About Exchange Rates
Exchange rates change continuously as currencies are traded on global markets. The rates shown here are the European Central Bank's official daily reference rates — published each business day and widely used as a neutral benchmark.
For travel estimates, invoice calculations, or financial planning, these rates are accurate enough for any practical purpose. Actual money transfer rates from banks or services like Wise and Revolut will include a spread — typically 0.5%–3% above the mid-market rate.
The 7-day chart shows recent direction at a glance. Rates go back to 1999 via the Frankfurter API — a free, open-source ECB data service requiring no authentication.
Domande Frequenti
How often are the exchange rates updated? ▼
Rates come from the European Central Bank and are updated every business day at around 16:00 CET. Weekend rates are not published — the most recent business day rate is shown on weekends.
Which currencies are supported? ▼
All 30+ currencies published daily by the European Central Bank: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, CNY, INR, KRW, BRL, MXN, SEK, NOK, DKK, PLN, CZK, HUF, RON, BGN, HKD, SGD, NZD, ZAR, TRY, MYR, PHP, THB, ISK, IDR, and ILS.
Are the rates accurate enough for real transactions? ▼
The rates are accurate reference rates but not live interbank rates. Banks and money transfer services will quote a slightly different rate with their spread included. Use this tool for estimates and planning — check your bank for actual transaction rates.
What does the 7-day chart show? ▼
The sparkline shows the exchange rate between your two selected currencies over the past 7 calendar days. The low and high values for the period are shown below the chart. A rising line means the source currency has been strengthening.
Does this tool send my data anywhere? ▼
No. The only network requests are to the Frankfurter API to fetch rates. No conversion amounts or usage data are logged or tracked.
What is the Frankfurter API? ▼
Frankfurter (frankfurter.dev) is a free, open-source API serving European Central Bank exchange rate data. It requires no authentication, has no rate limits, and supports browser requests directly — no server proxy needed.
